I hate movie games, because the gaming community in general, hates movie games. And they have good reason, movie games are usually bad (at least thats how it used to be). I wonder how long people have hated movie games. Possibly back in the times of the intellectual revolution when plays were being created. Kids would take the plays they loved, and re-intact them and whoever mimicked there character the best won. I could see why something as horrible and boring as that could translate through the ages. Could gamers have hated movie games long enough for it to be second nature to the game reviewers, clouding their judgment and possibly over scrutinizing tiny details. And if reviewers don't like the game, why would we waste our time on it? I remember back when I was a kid, I played Jurassic Park on the Sega (or SNES..too long ago ;_;) and I had a lot of fun with it. And today (present) I've played the King Kong game and loved that, so much so that i was a little disappointed by the movie and went "Wait, the movies over already?". (After watching it, its my favorite movie now). I've even come across the demo of the Van Helsing game and had a good experience with that. So what that's 3 out of an endless supply of 'bad' games. But if they're 'all' bad, then how did I enjoy them. Are there more good movie games that I've missed out on? What about you, have you played any movie games that really stood out? They already dug themselves too deep. It's a matter of trust and we'll no longer believe them when they cry wolf because there hasn't been a wolf too many times. |

Wait, I don't recall any good movies made from games? Not that I'm trying to disagree but I seriously can't think of any right now? |

I would rather pay to see a movie based on a game, than purchase a game based on a movie. But I think there are more satisfying Game Movies than there are Movie games, so even a little success is a success, like Hitman and Tomb Raider. Edited by Big Boss, Oct 27 2008, 07:25 PM.
